Babysitters.ie is Ireland's first website which enables parents to directly
contact babysitters in their specific area, suited to their needs. Our service
is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365/6 days a year.

Why should I register
my profile with babysitters.ie?
If you are already an experienced babysitter, childcare worker, or someone
looking for part time work, babysitters.ie will help advertise your availability
to our membership of registered parents. Parents will be able to search our
profiles online, and if your profile matches their needs in their area, they
will then be able to contact you. It is totally free to register your babysitter
profile, and we do not charge agency placement fees or commissions.

it cost to register my profile with babysitters.ie?

What is the minimum age to
join as a babysitter?
You must be 16 years or older to register your babysitters profile. This
is to ensure our babysitters are of a certain mature standard, and capable of
carrying out their duties in a mature, responsible manner. By submitting your
profile to babysitters.ie, you are verifying that you are over 16 years of age.
Must I be an experienced
babysitter or childcare worker to join babysitters.ie?
There are no specific experience requirements to join babysitters.ie,
however completing your profile fully and including up to two references will
improve the likelihood of being selected by parents to work for them. Babysitters
with two references will have a gold star appear beside their name and appear
on top of the search results, babysitters with one reference will have a silver
star beside their name, and babysitters with no references will have an empty
star. This will show parents at first glance your abilities as a carer, therefore
references will be of benefit to you, should you have them.
Why must I verify my
email address when signing up?
This is to ensure an added level of security, and to ensure parents can contact
you easily - if your email address is not valid, you may lose out on valuable
work!
Are my contact details
secure?
Only fully verified parents can contact you or view your contact details
such as phone number and email address. Parents must be logged in to view this
information - ensuring it is not seen by any other parties.

How
do I search for a babysitter in my area?
Finding a babysitter in your area is easy. Throughout the site on the top hand
navigation you'll see a link to our search area. Simply select whether you're looking
for a male or female babysitter - or leave 'either' selected if gender is not
an issue. Then select your area using the dropdown 'available in' menu.
N.B. For the Dublin area, babysitters are categorised according to which
areas they desire work in. For example, 'South Dublin' will bring up a list
of babysitters who only wish to work in the South Dublin area, but 'All Dublin'
will bring up a list of babysitters who are available to work in any area of
Dublin.
Babysitters who have two references will appear at the top of the list, followed by babysitters with one reference, and finally babysitters who have not provided any references. It is free to search babysitter profiles and add babysitters to your favourites (once you are logged in), but in order to contact babysitters you must purchase a full membership subscription with us, and ensure it is up to date.
What
is the advanced search facility for?
Sometimes parents may have special requirements when choosing a babysitter (the
ability to work with mentally or physically disabled children, be capable of
administering first aid, etc.). Our advanced search facility enables parents
to focus in and clearly identify babysitters which suit their specific requirements.
To use the advanced search facility, simply click 'advanced search' on the left
hand navigation (below the search box), select your required area, preferred
gender (if applicable), preferred price (if applicable), and then tick whichever
search boxes you think may be relevant.
Are the babysitters on
the site comprehensively screened?
The answer to this question is - yes and no. Once a babysitters or parent registers
with us, they must then click on a validation email which confirms their email
address. Only babysitters or parents who have validated their email addresses
may use the site. This is our initial way of tracking babysitters and parents
and preventing misrepresentation. Also, when babysitters and parents register
with us, the IP address of the computer they sign up on is tracked. When logging
into the site for future visits, the last IP of each visit it also logged separately.
Once again, this can help discourage misuse and track down those who do.
We do not interview babysitters individually, we are merely a conduit between parents and babysitters, and intend to make it as easy as possible for you to track down babysitters in your area. Babysitters who provide two references appear at the top of any seach you do, and you are encouraged to use these references wisely before agreeing to meet potential babysitters.
How much does a full
parent subscription cost?
There is a once off initial subscription cost of €24.95, which is
required before you may contact any babysitters. This includes one months full
access to all parents services, and should you with to renew your subscription
after this period it costs less than €5 per month, which can be
purchased in the following increments:
- 1 months subscription: + €7.95
- 3 months subscription: + €14.95
- 6 months subscription: + €24.95
- 12 months subscription: + €44.95 (Recommended)
You can purchase our subscription packages with our initial subscription, or at some time in the future, whichever you desire. Should your subscription expire, you can simply renew it at any time without having to pay the initial subscription fee again.

star shapes that appear beside each search result?
These let you know which babysitters have two reference, one reference, or none.
They are allocated as follows:
- Gold
Star: Two references
- Silver
Star: One reference
- Blank Star: No
references
Is finding a babysitter
on the internet safe?
Yes. Whilst a fairly new idea, finding a babysitter on the internet as
safe as placing an advertisement in a local shop, newspaper, or whatever. We
bring together literally thousands of babysitters in one area, giving you choice
and availability which is unmatched by any other method of finding babysitters
- we have new babysitters registering every hour. Parents should meet babysitters
before they begin minding their children, and exercise a reasonable amount of
caution and care during the process.
